How do we pick up our boat?

Our rentals are located at a dock at our marina. You will park on site, enter the store to sign paperwork and provide credit card for damage deposit. Then you will load up your boat with your personal items and be given brief instructions on boat operation and location of important safety equipment.  

Do I need to make a Reservation?

Reservations are strongly recommended and encouraged, walk-in traffic will be accommodated based on availability. Reservations can be made by phone or online by checking availability on the website. Each reservation will require a Boat Rental Agreement and Liability Waiver as well as a US Coast Guard Safety Check-List to be signed at pick up. When do I pay?

Payment is required in full at the time of reservation.

Do you require a damage deposit?

Yes, a credit card is required for pre-authorization of $500.00 in advance of your outing. No charges will be applied to the credit card unless equipment is lost or damaged during your outing.

Is gas included?

Gas is NOT included. The boat will be full of gas at the start of the rental. The boat will be refueled at our fuel dock at the end of the rental and charged to the customer. Remember to have funds (i.e. cash or credit card) on hand to pay for the fuel at the end of the rental.

Can I fish from your boats, and do I need a fishing license?

Yes, you can fish from our boats. State law requires you to carry a fishing license. Go to http://dnr.sc.gov to get more information. You can sign up for the license instantly online or from your cell phone.

Do you allow dogs on your boats?

Yes, we allow up to two dogs on our boats.

Do you rent tubes and other water toys?

We do not rent tubes or water toys but you are allowed to bring your own tow rope and tube to use. Towing a passenger behind the boat is done at your own risk.

Can I bring food on the boat?

Of course! You are welcome to bring food and stop along the way for a picnic or a snack. There are several county parks around Lake Keowee to stop at or just anchor off and eat on the boat.  

Can I bring a grill on the boat?

We have a no cooking policy on all of our boats. For insurance reasons, NO grill is allowed to be transported on any boat – even if you do not plan to use it on the boat.

Is there a restaurant to stop at?

We do have food available for purchase at our store. You can also stop at The Lighthouse, about 20 minutes south of our marina. They have dock space to park the boat while you eat. They provide an outdoor area to eat and have a drink or an indoor area.

Do I need to bring my own life jackets and other safety equipment?

No, we will provide all required safety equipment and life jackets for infants, children, and adults.

I am not familiar with Lake Keowee. How will I know where to go?

We provide a detailed map of Lake Keowee onboard for you to use during your rental.

Is there shade on the boat?

Yes, all boats include a bimini top to cover from the driver back to the stern.

How old do you have to be to rent?  

You have to be 25 to rent one of our boats and 18 or older to drive.Do you need a boater’s license to drive the boat?

Not in the state of South Carolina. You do have to be 18 or older to operate one of our rentals.

Is there a cancellation policy?  

No, unfortunately we do not offer a cancellation policy. We will make arrangements for a credit in case of inclement weather or a per basis adjustment. Weather-related cancelations will be determined on the actual day of the rental since conditions and forecasts change.
